Projects, agents, and channels

It's easy to mix these up, so here's how they relate:

  • A project is a workspace: one practice, client, course or product.
  • Inside a project, knowledge bases hold your materials. A project can have several, for example one for a paid course and one for general questions.
  • An agent is one assistant: a model, instructions and memory, answering from one knowledge base. Several agents can share the same knowledge base, for example a brief, formal agent for your website and a warmer one for Telegram.
  • A channel is where clients reach one agent: Telegram, WhatsApp, a website widget or the API. The same agent can be on several channels at once.
  • Conversations collect automatically for every person who writes to an agent in a channel.

In AOVA Studio, agents are called assistants: you find them under Assistants in the rail, knowledge bases under Knowledge and conversations in Inbox. Each shows the project picked in the project switcher at the bottom of the rail.

In short: project → knowledge bases → agents (each uses one) → channels → conversations.

Changing an agent's instructions doesn't touch the knowledge base. Changing a knowledge base affects every agent that uses it. Stopping a channel pauses just that one way in.

Your credit balance and plan belong to your account, not to a project: every project draws from the same balance.
